Ruiz carefully articulates each butterfly and sculptural element in clay to capture the first moments of light and motion; a mold is then crafted, bronze is cast, and the piece is hand-chased, refined, and finished with her signature enamel/patina technique to evoke the warmth and promise of early morning.
